Our farm on the hill was founded on the principles of permaculture and regenerative farming practices. We take pride in our pasture-raised chicken eggs, which are raised in an environment built on the foundation of the regeneration of the land.
We love our chickens!
These spoilt little hens have moved up in the world, from their humble beginnings in a makeshift chicken coup to exploring our farm grasslands in their very own "Rob Built" Mobile Chicken Coop! Having a mobile chicken setup allows us to move our birds to all parts of our farm while protecting them from predators.
We are passionate about providing our chickens with a natural environment, which leads to nutrient-dense and delicious eggs. By choosing pasture-raised, you're also choosing to support a more humane and regenerative lifestyle for the food you consume.
TECH SAVVY COUPS
Both of our Jacaranda Hill Farm chicken coups are mobile coups that are moved regularly. This helps to improve our soil by spreading the nutrient load "received" from the happy hens throughout the land.
The chickens are protected by a portable, electric netting fence that keeps the chickens in and the foxes out.
A mobile solar fence energiser powers the fence.
We use recycled materials where possible to help build infrastructure, including a mobile shade shelter for those hot Aussie days.
WHY BUY PASTURE RAISED EGGS?
Eggs from our chickens are raised on pasture!
This allows the chooks to scratch around and eat bugs and grass as they please.
Pasture-raised eggs are from chickens that are rotated through the property. This helps rejuvenate the land and lessen the impact of nutrient load build-up... AND you gain a more nutrient-dense egg, with much better colour and flavour.
